Hi Guys,
I really want to goi skiing/tube'ing today - the weather io great etc..
But i'm still waiting for one of Dan's skipoles..

My question is can i pull a skier/tube from the "lifting eyes" at the back or is that a no no..?

If you put a loop of rope from one 'U' bolt, to the other, on which you put a pulley with a float (to stop it sinking and getting caught in the prop) and attach the ski line to the pulley, it works pretty well and will minimise the skiers effect on the steering of the boat as you turn.

That's the only way I ever skied off my sharpe. I never used to bother with the pulley either, just made up a strop (out of ski rope so it floated) that was long enough to go round the motah attaching to the ubolts and not foul the prop too easily and attached the main ski line to a loop in the middle of the strop.

Just so that you know - that's not a lifting eye - it's a ski eye and put there for the purpose of skiing!

Just so that you know - that's not a lifting eye - it's a ski eye and put there for the purpose of skiing!

I would have thought 'technically', they're there for for lashing the boat to the trailer, and their purpose as ski eyes was secondary.
After all, a Cougar US1-46 has them, and I can't imagine skiing off one of them very often.
