As the season is approaching - just wondering who is actually going to be racing?

For a starters Matt and I will be racing the C-18 cat, with optimax XS 200. Don't know what name the boat will be under this year.

Looking forward to the Nationals and Worlds in Italy.

I will be out there with a backdraft and XR2 and later in the year a B23
may do the euro's but definately the Worlds

Tony

explosion will be doing most of the basic races

We will most certainly be doing as much as we can! We are hoping to do the full national and some basics, and possibly the worlds. Really looking forward to it!!

Anyone want to sponosr us? he he

We will be racing R66 in the Formula 200 and Rib Championships, I understand the other BananaShark will be raced by Andy Tremalow in the same classes?

Mark and myself will be out in C-12 now weve finaly sorted out our gearcase problem!!!:seaman:

I was going to start with a basic at Allhallows but looks like that is off? If this is the case can anyone suggest a nice easy basic to strat with for a newbie?

I am based in Essex

i'll be out there with privateer in production class, as long as the hull, the engine and my navigator survive the first race:seaman:

What about the driver ? :D

how many will there be in production class?

I would take a wild guess that it's a class for production boats

so in that case my old p20 would be in that class then?. as petes is a marshan with an xr2 and the phantom with an xr2

just seems alot of boats would fit into that class ,and i had not heard of it for this year,is it another form of basic racing?

Dunno, over to you Pete

This is part of the Formula 200 class - really anything with upto 200hp outboard.

There will still be seperate sub-sections to the class such as 3C (old 2 litre), F1 RIBs (was F2 last year) and a class for others such as the old XR2 powered OCR boats and Phantoms, Marshans etc. This last section has so far been called 'production'.

Thus there will be overall line honours for Formula 200 - which could be from any of the above sub sections. This is what the public will see - hopefully one race with a lot of boats.

However there will still be points awarded to the seperate sub-sections for championships.

Hope this all makes sense!

There should be some news from the newly formed steering committee soon as to the final rules etc.

Also - we are hoping it will give production boats the chance to race at National venues such as Torquay!

More details to follow re. licences and boat paperwork etc.
