I bought a magazine in the early 70s called 'Chevy Power' and the lead article was entitled 'Why Fords Suck' and they had at least 100 reasons.

Can we come up with 50 reasons for a latter day maritime version.

Heres a starter:

1. They look stupid

Apologies in advance for any offence caused.

2. They come in all colours except boat colours.

3. You cant shelter from the weather unless you spend 40 Grand on one.

4. You have to dress like a Sailor in order to operate one.

5. No owner ever pulled a chick with one.

They're fugly

6. If they handle so well, why are most fitted with roll over bars?

7. having a rubber toob around your boat should not mean you dont have to use fenders. Your boat may not get marked, but mine does by the friggin black rubber strip around the perimeter.

8. They never appear to be able to observe wash limits within rivers or estuaries, and yet once in the open sea appear to travel at no more than 30 Knots! Something to do with comfort levels i believe.

9. They are generally operated by "strange types".

10. They are generally purchased by people on the grounds that they are practical.

Practically good at nothing in particular. (A compromise as all boats are). Nothing new there then.

And besides, who wants a practical boat? Someone with a practical car i suppose.

Hey if you get a puncture in a hard boat does it sink or what?

Err, ok, can't argue with that.

Neither should if both are production boats with CE:bang:

37k + extras sounds like 'about 40k' to me!
