Very authentic! Even has a bilge full of 'Engine in distress fluid'.
Roger Severy always likes to run with that.

I think there were at least 3 'Dry Martinis' the south cost one is an early Cig (wider beam one) but it's been 'basterdised' into a faux pleasure boat, so far from authentic. Mind you, I dunno how you prove it was actually ever one of the real Dry Martini boats.

I thought it made good reading last night and was nice to see someone taking the time and care to restore a boat like that as close to the historic orginal spec as possible.

Dry Martini`s
3 Dry Martini`s eh Jon.Ummmm!
Dry Martini(1973) - ex Aeromarine IX
Dry Martini (1973) 2 - ex Red Vengence,ex Fino
Dry Martini (1974) 2 - became Yellowdarama III,Crown of Crucis,Colt Sapporo
This is the cowl type canopy which I think was for sale
on south coast.
Dry Martini IV (1974) - ciggy 35 as in thread.David Hagan drove it in U.S. to
gain points for Harmsworth Trophy.
Dry Martini (1979) - cobra 38 (G.Niccolai)
Dry Martini 2 (1979) - picchiotti 38 ex-Alitalia Due,went on to become Ego,
Rothmans Ego,Ouragon,Trussardi.
Dry Martini (1982) - picchiotti 38 ex-Martini Racing,went on to become Ideal
Standard,Cafferel.
I expect `Black Tornado` will be gunning for me if I`ve screwed it up somewhere.
By the way you have a bug in your system Mr.F.Literally! It keeps crawling across JF post 5 and can`t escape.A lifetime spent on a JF post!
The original post was scooped by `Little Nige` 3 yrs ago. What a downer.

Well I did say "at least 3"! Anyway, how would I know, I was still in short trousers, weighed about 8 stone, and had a full head of hair back then.

Sorry Flying Fish, you're wrong about Yellowdrama III considering that was the cougar cat! I'm pretty sure you meant Yellowdrama II which indeed was the boats that you listed.
Happy New Year,
Graham

Molinari Cat
There certainly was a Molinari cat but it was called Martini Bianco ,as was his monos.I only went for the Dry Martini named craft as that was probably enough for JF to digest. Can I ask what triggered the young JF to decide he was hooked on powerboat racing.I think the world should be told when this momentous occurrence unfolded, and don`t tell us it wasn`t a flippin phantom at full chat that did it.

Bah Mumbug
Anyone would think I was a right piss head with the amount of typo's I seem to be performing these days!
Graham, I was born in a wee house on the river Thames at Hamhaugh Island, Shepperton and have played on the water with anything motorized that I could get my hands on since my very earliest memories. Moving on to the salty stuff (stop it!) from the fresh water of the Thames was a natural progression to make 'as soon as one could'.
