world leading british powerboat with more wins than the other two NON AVAILBE!!!!!!!!21 powerboats that are allways compared to the Marshan 21,,,,,,
Not having a go at Marshans, I'm sure they are still great boats but I'm struggling to work out where all the race wins were and in what class of racing?

I seem to recall the 19' had a record speed run in 3c with the motor out on a bracket, something around 67-69mph I think maybe late 80's ... on second thought's it may have been 76-79mph ?
The boats did have a reputation for stuffing the nose in a following sea under certain conditions, but I believe they were a good hull and Marshan had a pretty good range back in the day ... good luck in France, lets hope they still have some spending power left

I cannot believe people dare doubt the racing record of Marshan.
Its a bit like saying what has Pele ever done in football.
Originally race successes were in 3b (16foot)and 3c(18 foot)
Gowellequip,Moody blue and Superstar were untouchable with straight 6 Merc and then the subsequent 175 in their day
A 19 footer was developed but the magnificent 21 foot surpassed them and cleaned up 1984ish-Privateer, Desperado are two of the greats
Great in the rough and pretty quick in the calm-a real drivers boat
I think the 18 footers ran a four bladed cleaver long before they became fashionable 1976ish

Just as an observation, wasn't it the introduction of those "High End Ribs" that destroyed the "Great British Sportsboat" industry in the first place?
Steve Baker blamed the arrival of the jet ski.
As two jet skis on a single trailer fit inside a garage, were cheaper, and the two guys who would previously of had a 18-20 footer between them, found the whole new jet ski thing cheaper & easier, and could forget about them once stored away indoors and could have 'one each'.

Sadly I think you're right. There's hundreds of the things over here now. 20 years ago Herm harbour would be full of Rings and Phantoms, now it's RIBs and jet skis!

and then said jet ski owner could buy a vauxhall SRI. strangely nothings changed there excpet its the VXR models or the odd warrior that appear to be attached to jet ski owners. Stereo types
You can do a lot more with her in doors in a boat that I would not try on a jet ski powerboat every time for me ,and the way fuel is going the market for small craft can only get bigger .And as for mariner costs its cheaper to buy a house
