I assume its a 2:1 box cus if its a 1.87:1 thats insanely fast. Where as if it is 2:1 then its just indecently fast
with 2:1 it comes out at 92mph
and with 1.87:1 it comes out at = 98mph
Thats using http://www.rbbi.com/folders/prop/propcalc.htm
I used 12% slip which I think is fairly typical for a Phantom with no setback. Please feel free to correct me I'm wrong!!!

Burty's gunna have to step his game up a bit if he wants to be 'Mr Fastest Single Engine Phantom Owner on Boatmad'. I expect him to deny it when he reads this but I've known him for nearly 13 years and he's always had to be the best and fastest hence the 40K layout on his Cossie

He'll have to get in line behind me, hutchy's just fit my mad efi and engine sounds awesome, wayne taylors just sent me a fuel curve for my engine that will safely rev it to 10k and hutchy's just building a 2.5 with nitrous, a 150 shot at that

Ive just had the pleasure of driving the 21 it handles better than my 18 but doesn't turn as well, I had it over 8k and it was rock steady, no roll or chine walk but it doesn't accelerate like mine and it aint as fast .

Mine doesnt chine walk either and feels really stable at speed too! The only thing it does do is in a rough sea every now and then it lands on the left side! But i think they all do that!

Mine lands on both sides but not at the same time and its landed on its arse and submerged the whole engine and splash well too.
Doesn't chine walk one lil bit either. I saw 7200rpm last weekend with it trimmed right out, one hand on the steering wheel and the other tapping Karl on the shoulder and then pointing at the rev counter.

I think the tacho is put at 4 cil not 6 cil
The best I ever had with a customers boat named engine killer was 82 mph GPS
This was a 20 ft phantom kevlar deck with S3000 power head, 2:1 gearbox turning a 4blade 23 offshore prop at 8400 rpm.
With all other props including merc and yam shoppers the boat was slower
I really would like to see the gps reading

I couldn't give a toss if you believe me or not, it was fitted with one of ian blackers 280 motors fitted with 260 electrics and it ran in the 90's.

I don't want to offend you but I deal with raceboats everyday and thats why I want facts not dreams.
First of all 260 electronics will never turn 8500 rpm.
If you say it runs in the 90's I want to believe you because I also want to make my boat that fast. Just teach me how please.
Give some more info on engine height, engine specs and so.
Do you know what it takes to go from 82 to in the 90'S ? I think around 80 to 90HP.
I have a Hydrostream vector with a 280, turning a 28 shopper at 8000 rpm with 2:1 it does 93, but this is pad bottem 17ft boat of 190 kg

Before you give an opinion you should check your facts, 280 electrics may not pull 8500 but 260 electrics will pull well over 10k.
