Haha, doubt it. Just bringing them back to life! Anyway, by the amount of them springing up over here, I'd say hes done a few more!

I had the same problem with my Ring 18, no serial number to be found. It was being discussed on here and I am sure Mike said that boats built up until 1985 (or could have been 86) didnt have a serial number as they were able to track the builds against the owners. After 85 it became to complicated and the serial number system was set up.
I had a quick look through my old posts for the original mail but can't find it at the moment. Will have another look when I have 5mins.

Had a rake through the old posts and eventually found the quote from Mike - it was actually posted to Freedom but we were both asking the same question:-
Prior to 1985 none of the boats from the late sixties onward were numbered on the boat , we knew every owner by name and could usually track the progress of each boat as it changed hands and went on to race with a new owner.
From 1985 it was obvious that numbering individual boats helped me identify which model a person was referring to. I had introduced the R15 ( possibly the type this thread is all about ), series C 16 s ( the Bs being stepped ) , and up to series B 18s .
Stepped and conventional vee 20 footers ,some with special ventilated hull bottoms to series B. By this time the 21 range was on its second re-incarnation. The numbers were glassed to the underside of the screen from this date , this was common knowledge but a 'secret ' second number was glassed to the reverse of the rear seat backrest . not easy to spot.
By the eighties people were 'passing off' 20 footers for 21s by re decalling . ( there is a case of that happening at the moment with a red 20 series B being offered as a R21.
The 15 measured approx 15 feet nine inches , the sixteen was tailored to a particular racing class, the stepped 16 b being the shortest and the quickest, and used to very good effect in class 4 , lifting the record at Windermere.
18s were all around 18 feet nine inches , 20s nearly all 20 feet ten inches but EVERY genuine 21 measured exactly 6.5 Metres (21feet four and a half inches ) the max allowed for F1 ski racing to get the most amount of boat in the water to help the skier.
I can usually identify a boat prior to 1985 from the way that it was built and stiffened. mail me a pic or two and I will try to help.

Thank you Ring owner!
You just gave me a clue that my boat could be a R20. I´ve measured it to approx 6.3m. However, the bottom lift strake does not go all the way to the aft. I haven´t seen that in pictures of R20;s (which does not mean they don´t exist...)
Also the top of the windscreen has a little curve and the top sides of the aft isn´t smooth ar the 20;s I´ve seen.
