Mike, I bought it in 91 from EMYS in Port Solent who had taken it as a part exchange when Tony bought his Donzi Black Widow. I then sold it to Linden at Nauticalia in Shepperton.
Next saw the boat at Sparkes on Hayling Island in 94 when Mike Sweeting was keeping his Velocity 26 there. The 20 was looking somewhat unloved as it was uncovered and had standing water in it each time that I saw it. A real shame as it was such a pretty boat.
Another picture appeared of the boat a few years ago on a thread here but I can't seem to find it now.

Yes Dan, that's the one.
Upon re-reading the thread, I'm not only repeating the same tired posts (almost verbatim) but even reposting the same pics. How very sad.

Its a Ring 21 series A One of only three in all Olive green.

Now that's an interesting hull design. How did it go with that 9.5 Johnson?

21 A hulls were lighter with less grp area to mould but very similar running surfaces, all were used as twin rig ski racers and were quick in their day.

My first Ring 20, bought in 82 with my redundancy payment from British Airways.
Me as a 26 year old, with my favourite ski, a Maharajah 360 leaning up against me boat.

My cousin had a Maharajah 360. I used to tell him that my O'Brien was the better ski. I was lying.

My wee toy - Ring 18, bought in 94 down in Windermere and modified over the successive years. Pics 3 & 4 were taken during last years "summer". Not happy with the "Merc" name on the engine and will probably remove it over the winter - get my mate to redo something more suitable for me.
According to Mike it is pre 85 but I dont have any other info about her. Was called Trival Pursuit at one point and the original trailerboard was fitted with a few Wesh race stickers.
She runs well and provides plenty of enjoyment for the family and assorted friends.
