The blowers are 14-71s. I had a set of 10-71s I bought for the project but the engine builder wanted to go with the larger blowers. Those guys are experts at spending other peoples money.

The boat looks very cool!


Mr too old, what was the name of those tabs being made by a guy on OSO, as replacements for the bennett sport tab? I thought they were 'Victory' or something.

Yes....the photo is of a 21. I don'y know much about the 21s except they've been around for a long time.

The smaller boats, 21 and 26 ft are built buy another Sutphen family member in New Jersey.

I saw a guy down in Islamorada at the 2002 Miami boat show poker run with a black Sutphen, oldish guy, it had Lamborgini writen all over it, but apeard to have V8's in, do you know the boat?

that one i posted.....surprisingly had....you guessed it a promax 225............thw whole caboodle was about $20K..........put it this way, i enquired about shipping!

But then i found the superboat website and realised i was just a poor student!

Bill ran V-12s in that boat for a few years. He got them from Mercury who had experimented with them. After a few years, parts became hard to find and expensive so some V-8s went back in.

Bill's boat is also a 39. Mine is configured a little differently because of the staggered motors. He has a bit more cockpit room.
