When we were stopped once on the Thames ( in the V24 - so they could only do a stop, not a stop and search! ) We tied up to the Police craft whilst they wrote up their paperwork, and I noticed TWO of the Police with their heavy coats *OVER* their lifejackets! And they were zipped up tight and comfey...
The jackets were auto inflate.
If they had fallen over, what would have happened?
1) they would have been crushed by the inflating lifejacket, and been unable to breathe
2) they would have a lifejacket unable to inflate.
I took pity on them and pointed it out to the captain of the little rozzer ship, and he quickly got them to change. But makes you wonder who they are putting on the water.....
