Old petrol ?

I have 10 gals of unleaded petrol with oil mixed ( 50:1 ) its 12 months old, is it ok to still use in a outboard ( Merc 500 50hp 1976 ) ?

or/and is it ok to mix it say 50/50 with new mixed petrol ?

Although it's 50 quids worth of fuel if it knackers your engine its probably not worth the risk as it could cost a lot more to repair IMHO

I have about 200 galls of diesel in my boat ,fibre glass tanks, been stood for 18 months, was hoping to use it for the 50th end of august.Any nastys i should look out for apart from the bug. Is there a test to show up anything lurking, would it be best to have it run through the cleaner.cheers CW,

Treat with Fuel-Set, mix 4:1 you will not have a problem. Try and remove any water from the bottom the tank before adding & blending the Fuel-Set

lol, been working away so not been able to post. it is actually 4000;1 so you will only need 250 ml. If there is no water in the tank then there wont be any bugs. (It is a water born algae)

Blending

Ideally you should put in before refueling, but if you can get hold of a small pump put the juice in and pump the fuel round this will blend nicely but only if you find water in the tank (no water no bug) You can use it as a fuel conditioner like any fuel treatment but if it aint broke leave it alone
