Cancer Charities Basic

Seems "Mr. Noisy" will try yet again this weekend.

If anyone if going out either as safety or to spectate and has a couple of extra seats, my daughter (and boyfriend) would gratefully fill them.

The daughter can handle lines with the best of them (can't vouch for the boyfriend).

Can't offer any seats, but good luck for the race!

No dunk test but the daughter is SSI certified 'Advanced Open Water' diver. Does that help?

Nope - He needs someone with a dunk test to ride in the V24. Someone brave or better yet drugged and asleep!

I have one seat left in in the Blade Runner. Sorry, no space for the boyfriend. But if she can help fend off piers and other hard objects, she is welcome....

The Blade runner will be supporting the V24's with a diver on board - not racing - so it should be safe...

Thanks Gavin and verytricky.

Actually Amanda would love to race in the V24 but I don't think I can get a dunk test arranged in time.

She also greatly appreciates the offer of a seat in the Blade Runner but she is being nice to her boyfriend and doesn't want to leave him ashore on his own - silly girl.

Well I came down & watched weather was shite, along with the turnout. To everybody who took part you deserve a bloody medal and your intrest level is far greater than anything anybody could question. Sorry to say only took a few pics before I decided to go to watch the afternoon movie on the seafront and I'm a boat freak. Must have been about 30 people on the end of the pier showing intrest including the officals. This sport is seriouly in the doldrums !!!!

V24 make a lot of noise dont they .............
Lucky so many V24's turned out as otherwise the race would have passed without being noticed
what were there total starters 10? all classes
I think observer & safety boats outnumbers racers

I think I was the only spectator boat on the water. Looking at the people on the pier they were all hiding under umbrella's.

The best battle of the day was between V2 and S6 who seemed to be locked together all the way through the race. V2 was pushing hard and took the lead on the last lap.

Not sure how it finished.

Here is a link to a few of the pictures I took ( pictures )

Cheers

Mark

That's amazing! S-6 should'a pissed it! goes to show just how good those V class boats are in a chop, that's assuming everything was OK with the B28 (S-6) of course.

V2 always seems to go well but as you say the HP difference should have made enough difference. Conditions, from my non-racing position, seemed quite good and the boats were running level, most of the time.

There was a big difference in time/distance between V2 and the other V24's
