I heard a specific P1 boat has taken to installing a locking fuel cap like some installed in some V24 boats... I heard it straight from the person who supplied them with the parts, so I guess P1 was already a troubled area...

The UIM has been requested not to allow them to get a Foreign licence so P1 could well be a problem.

I think all other governing bodies (International ones also) should follow suit and ban them on the back of the rya decision to stop them racing any where.

This and more. It is unfortunately a thing which does happen. It has been going on under the radar for years. I am very very pleased with the RYA for actually publishing this and I think this is a turning point for the sport. There was no backroom deal, no hush hush covering of the information. Published on the RYA's own website:
Quote:
Published: 25/10/2006
A Royal Yachting Association Offshore Racing Committee tribunal has found disciplinary charges proven against a team competing in the prestigious Honda Formula 4-Stroke powerboat racing series.
Charges against the Fatboy Racing Team followed their disqualification from the Liverpool Powerboat Grand Prix round of the series, held over the weekend of Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 September. Team members were alleged to have tampered with the fuel supply of a rival boat.
A disciplinary tribunal meeting held at the RYA’s headquarters in Hamble, Southampton on Friday 20 October upheld charges under the PB1 2006 Rules of gross misconduct (Rule F26) and unsportsmanlike behaviour (rule F32 (j) against the Fatboy Racing team of Will Nocker and Rob Lister.
The Tribunal rescinded the duo’s RYA-issued racing licenses with immediate effect and ruled that they will not be issued with new UK licenses prior to 1st January 2012. In addition, the Tribunal has informed the international governing body of powerboat racing, the Union Internationale Motornautique (UIM), of the RYA’s objection to any other national authority issuing licenses to the duo before the suspension expiration.
“The Tribunal’s decision, having taken into account all the available evidence and witness statements, sends out a very clear message that misconduct and unsporting or antisocial behaviour will not be tolerated within our sport” said Roger Trotman, Chairman of the RYA Disciplinary Board.
Under the PB1 2006 Rules, the Fatboy Racing team has ten days in which to give notice of their intention to appeal against the Tribunal’s ruling.

So, if this chap (who I don't know, by the way) is banned from holding a Licence until January 2012, how can he come 8th in a race held in September 2011. A race, I hasten to add, attended by the Powerboat Racing Manager...

Hmm, make's you wonder doesn't it? Perhaps he bought a day licence. Wonder why Puddleduck didn't pick up on it though, especially as he got beaten by him!

I thought he may have been a technphobe, but he seems to visit Planet Powerboat.....
"
Just had a chance to look at your new web site, it looks fantastic and I am sure will become a great window for the sport. The RYA would like to contribute on a regular basis and will of course be happy to link your site to RYA powerboat racing. I am sure we all agree the sport needs as much promotion as possible in these difficult times and I am sure this site will go a long way to providing that much needed help.

"Rob Lister had supported the sport in various roles over the past three years which had been very positive".
7 out of 9 voted to give his Licence back !!

check out this headline!
First I heard about this was in front of the podium at the Lymington Challenge.when another competitor informed me that two of the guys in front of me had been disqualified from a previous race, having been caught on CCTV tampering with another competitors fuel.
NO PROTEST WAS MADE !
I have since heard, through this forum, that the RYA had revoked these guys licenses, then reinstated them on appeal.
I ask myself, would I, or this sport be better off without the RYA ? ... the answer is definately no !
... is my behaviour exemplary after a few beers ( or before ) ? ... anyone who knows me can answer that one !
... are these guys likely to re-offend ? don't think so !
I accept and respect the RYA's decision.
I don't know them, but I'm happy to race against Mr Nocker and Mr lister, we need all the competitors we can get in marathon racing.

I agree with Neil.
Rob is a good guy - unfortunately he did something stupid, admitted it and has taken a lot of punishment for it.
Time to move on and I cannot see the need to try and cause even more problems for him or our sport - let him race.
