I experienced this too when i trimmed the engine...

I experienced this too when i trimmed the engine out on calm water, got to about 50 and boat felt like it was on ice stern sliding from left to right. Maybe trimmed out to far?

Yes i think so, I had the rev's off the scale and managed to get just over 50 out of it. Trimmed in i get about 45 ish and slightly less rpm. I think its due to the prop or the engine set too low....

The Transom bracket at the moment is at its lowest setting and the hook is sitting on the top of the transom. So bolting the Transom bracket higher to lift the engine will obviously lift the hook off...

If fitting a low water pickup, will the existing pick ups need blanking off due to air being sucked in if the engine is too high and causing an air lock?

The manual says the rev range for this engine is 5300-5800. But when i trimmed it out a bit and got into the low 50's the rev counter went off the scale which goes to 6000, but im not sure how...

From what i understand is the high five is great for pulling skiers up and getting the boat on the plane quicker, gives excellent accelaration but at the price of a lower top end? My boat grips well...
