OK just to clarify. The engine was already blown up when I bought the boat .

I WOULD NOT AND NEVER HAVE RUN THE OIL INJECTION ON A MERCURY OUTBOARD.

You'll have to ask the previous owner. The engine was on a bowrider I've just bought, the seller said that they had rebuilt the engine but didn't replace the drive on the crank and this happened...
