That scene alone totaly destroys it for me. Nothing more than an insult to ones inteligence. The rest of the film is ok, but it'll never be the Bourne Idenity.
I think Craig is ok, he aint the problem.

First time i watched casino royal i wasn't convinced. Too used to over the top can't ever get shot bond antics and it stepped too far out of the bond comfort zone. After a few months i watched it again, it's a really good film.

Just been to see the Bond Film and loved it to bits. Don't know what the problemn with you all is. Three strong story lines running all the time, Craig looks and acts mean and hard, kills without compunction if he has to, out for vengance and that is his main aim but still remains loyal to GB. Bits of Bourne here and there but that was to be expected with the stunt co-ordinator of Bourne being on the action and the fight scenes where pure Bourne but so what. he were great.
Bond gets the job done, kills the villians and moves on as he needs to.
Craig is a gritty modern day Bond and I think he plays it very well indeed. I think Connery would be proud of this one.
I'm just going to have to go and see it again.

It was dreadful - I agree with Jon, Craig isn't the problem. They took everything that was "Bond" and removed it!
Oh yes and then super bad criminal was guilty of stealing ................ Water!

Sorry... But when Bond shot Electra King in 'The World is Not Enough' it ruined any possibility of another film being liked by me !!!!

I agree that the bad guy could have stolen more then some water... But it is quite a clever idea... if he had all the water in the world, where would we go boating??
And i agree that there could have been more ladies...
As for the lacking in "bond"ness, and correct me if i'm wrong here, but Casino Royale and Quantam Solstice (or whatever its called) are set before all the other Bond films, so this is what he was like when he started out as a secret agent...
the only thing it really missed, the most important part... was the bond theme when something exciting is about to happen!
just my 2 cents...

I've read all the Bond books & seen all the Bond films. The books are a total eye-opener if you've only watched the films. The films are nothing like the books. The only film that gets close is the Daniel Craig version of Casino Royale. (apart from the stupid 'sinking house' bit).
I've also read all the Bourne books & watched all the Bourne films. These are much closer to the books.
What I'm trying to say is that the 'traditional' Bond films are the odd one out here. Bond was always meant by Fleming to be a Bourne type character.
I guess from the comments so far that means I'm gonna like the new film.
