At the old drinks party on Christmas eve I was chatting to an old friend Mr G who enquired whether I was still racing ?
Oh yes was the reply but he went on to proudly state that he won the first ever powerboat race in Guernsey in a Tremlett powered by a 120hp Mercruiser.
Second was same boat driven by a Mr F but with a larger Volvo Penta 145hp
Next race he got beat and it turned out Mr F had had the heads skimmed, high lift cams etc etc
This must have been early 1960s.
My mate went on to explain that the" string and hanky brigade "Yachties
regetted letting the motor brigade into the yacht club ever since !
"They didn't know how to drink till we came along and showed them !"
Nothing much changes last 50 years then ?

The original race winner boat was 21 footer called Trampus
Although he wasn't sure if it might have been shorter and I have seen 19 footers with cabin.
Surely an Irish, Tremlett loving, Q.S won't drink that much ?
Oh and I downed a depth charge
(pint of Jon Smiths with rum in shot glass inside) timed at 3 seconds this new years eve in front of scrutineers !
It wasn't big and didnt feel particularly clever after !

Has anyone got any info or photos of a Tremlett that was around 23' in length?
I'm buggered if I can find any info on what I believe is a Tremlett 23 thats sat in the garden.
I believe it to be from the 70' or 80's as I found some news paper stuffed in between the frames of the wheelhouse from 81.....

Tremlett 23
Tremlett did product a "23", along with both longer & shorter versions.
23' sports cruiser was I think, a standard production model, & I think one raced in the Cowes-Torquay PBR.
The early 1970's were when Chris Tremlett boats were much in evidence.
