I know they have their supporters but as they are bolted together I believe that they have too much opportunity to flex because of the design and as soon as it starts to flex things go downhill fast.
Our old race boat (and or the loose nut behind the wheel) was very hard on lifters and the only one we managed to get to last was the Stainless Marine one which is made from two identical ally castings that fitted together with plastic sliders, once they got a little loose the sliders were replaced.

Seen that one before - some serious surface piercing going on there huh!
Remarkable top end too for a BF225 - shows how much grunt they have. I know its on a twister but still 99.8mph!! Certainly wouldnt fancy that set up in a bit of solent slop though. Reckon the jack plate would snap in no time plus such a high COG - i bet it'd be a right handful in anything other that flat calm.
On a second vid it runs at a claimed 104mph!!

nice. bet that gets a wriggle on too. H20 is a fast hull i gather.
Has the motor been remapped? any ideas what it spins up to and with what pitch?

Nah, it isnt that fast actually... 70mph at the most.
Its totally stock I think but the gearcase has a cone ofc. BUT It dosent have a low water intake so he cant have the engine that high.... Could use another 3-5cm, the propp has alot of grip!
It has a 26" Solas 4blade. The reason for the 4 blade is that he wants grip in midrange for carrying many people

Yea but I have been in a exactly the same Piraya F20 but with a 200 Merc EFI. That did do well over 75 mph any day of the week.
Thats Merc power for you

you can see its running a transom pick up. I had a cmc lifter and that was crap too.

Exactly! That what made me so confused when I saw his boat the first time. A nosecone but no low picup?
But then he told me that his engine "had a rough life on a cat before"
It all made sense now
