Mate's bought a spirit v180 special edition. Got an evinrude 140 on the back.

She's trying to find out year etc for insurance but can't find anything ... does anyone know anything about these boats?

I'm sure the Sprits were licensed copies of Glastrons made in the UK. As far as i was aware they were all made mid-late 80's into the early 90's. I'd have thought it could have had that 140 on it from new, so that'd give you a ballpark idea (from the serial).

Spirit/Glastron

Hi guys

Spirits were rebadges Glastrons, the main difference being that the Spirits didn't have the Glasron "sharks tooth" moulded along the rear flanks.

Glastrons were made by Roger Clarke Marine in the UK, when production finished they were sold by them as Spirit. Later on the moulds passed to Picton Boats I beleive who continued production for a while. Roger Clarke is now defunct but Picton Boats are sill in Mid Glamorgan and may be worth a call?
