information on sharps.....

Hi, i'm new to the whole thread thing....
anyway i live on the Isles of Scilly! i bought an old 19' hull of a old chap i know, to be a project did some digging and found its a sharp (sod all else) although the boat its self is well known by people on the island "notoriously known"

run it a few times with an old school merc 1150 thunderbolt 6cyl 1973-76 with a laser2 21p prop! speed was GPS tracked at 45+knts

would really like some info and pictures as restoring it!

Question Sharp

I'm currently running a 19ft sharp been a good little boat. Running a Evinrude 235hp on it and seeing 64 mph GPS speed running a raker 1 26p. What info are you after. I have limited info but some may be off use to you

Knowing how narrow they are and how old and tall the merc is i would plump for the yam if i had to choose.

the merc is a lump yeah i agree, but the acceleration is amazing, the yam is a more modern unit squat v4 and goes nicely but would need a 21"pitch prop for best power out put!

I've just fitted a Yamaha 130 V4 to my Ring 18C and am really impressed with the handling! Different hull I'm aware, but mine seems nicely balanced with the fuel tank in the stern, swinging a 22" pitch Yamaha Pro prop.

Regards, Sam.

That's an impressive speed for a relatively low hp motor, is the boat especially light? What's it made of?
