Burtys engine build

The motor work looks very impressive, however the rule for F2 is simple for racing in GB and europe, it is 300hp and posting your pictures puts you at the front of the queue,!!! for the dyno mate.
The rules for worlds state it must be as manufactured.I am not saying people dont alter their motors, just saying what the rules are with the obvious results of discovery, just because the scrutineering has not been tested on this subject dont mean it cant be, especially if you beat johny foreighner in his back yard.

This is a 300hp motor so guess you should be ok Rob.
Baz who and where are we Dyno testing, Good idea as long as the person doing so is fully trained.

Would you want your motor rev'd at max RPM at a race event on the hose?????

Normally Dyno testing is done on a bench in a controlled enviroment.

If you look at Rob has actually had done, most of it is for reliabilty not performace.

Notice the lack of material removed from the exhaust chest, nothing like a 280 or a drag motor.

Cye, agree with all that, the reference to the queue was tongue in cheek as i have no idea who would use it or even qualified.
I would not let any one rev my motor as described, not cos its over HP but because i like it in the shape it is now. I am all for regulations to even out the competition but it has to be workable which it patently is not.By the way i am not restanding as drivers rep this coming season.

Bazza I agree with you on this we do need regulation.

But the poeple that we currently have checking the boats would certainly not be qualified nor would I trust them to operate a Dyno.

This has been talked about many of times before and not really gone anywhere.

I also agree with you about Rob being a bit naive with posting pics of his motor on the net!!!!

But hey he has nothing to hide!

I would not question the motives for showing the engine in its various stages as it is a motor to be bloody proud of !!!!
i suppose it comes from years of bitching about who has what or done this, that you keep it to yourself, but that is not what this site is about is it. Show what you have (boats please)and be proud, i wish i could afford that kind of engine work and detail, just a standard motor for me??????????yeah right!!!

Why are people in ski racing such nobs?
everyone seems to assume i have mega power just from seeing some photos. has anyone of you asked me?? NO!
Its exactly the same as when i posted a pic of my new licence on here. i was proud to get it but all i get is phone calls and bitchyness from people saying i havent done it properly!
and you wonder why ski racing is a dying sport!

WELL FOR ALL YOUR INFORMATION

its running a 39psi reg and standard A5 ecu which has a rev limit of 8200 so there is no way i can have more than 300 hp is there! all the other stuff i have had done is to prolong the life of the motor so bollox to you all!

Yeah you wouldn't safely make much over 300hp on a gold 39psi reg hence why the Drag (300hp standard) and F1 motors come with the black 56psi reg.

However your reg is RED Burty my old mate and according to my 'Official No One Can Argue With It Mercury 2.5 ECU And Fuel Pressure Regulator Specification Sheet' there is no possible way you could have 300HP or less.

Burty d'ont let it get to you, I've seen plenty of horsepower in the pits , but it's the same old story. No matter how much youve got if your skier cant hang on you aint winning- END OF.

Its not really a problem as such, its just people tell people who tell people and then i get grief like people telling me i cant race next year cus i have 400hp
when i dont even know these people
but hey i think the sport is in decline cus if they had more than 3 people per class they wouldn't win a trophy

Whatever, if you or any other ski race muppets want to strip it down and check it then you can pay for the shipping to the states and the costs to get it put back together.
Didn't realise engines had to be kept under lock and cowl

I am more than happy to have my engine put on the dyno as long as every engine gets the same treatment!
