What Ben means is, the 508 rules are the rules relating to race boats fitted with a safety canopy, such as the F-16 commonly used.
when a boat has one fitted, it then has to meet many other rules to ensure the occupants will survive in the event of a capsize, such as an air supply/demand valve, harness (safety belts) etc, etc.

I remember these 'Caraboats'.
The trailer is actually part of the boat. (in order to make for easier something or other)
I thought the 'house' also folded down (like a trailer tent) but it doesn't look so from the picture.
1973. You swell with pride and happiness as you tow your Caraboat to the 'seaside' behind your new Morris Marina with your toes tapping to the latest single from The Carpenters.

Look even better with a demolition ball on it!
What the F$£k are some people on when they devise these utterly shit contraptions?
Robin Reliants, Sea going cars (cant remember the make, cant be arsed to look it up either), Gyrocopter boats, anything volvo penta (or indeed, anything with the word volvo attached to it at all), Rubber Cocks, inflatable dolls and Rigid inflatables to name just a few!
There are some seriously sick puppies out there.

I actually think the latest generation DPX, as fitted to the 350 hp supercharged D6 diesel, is a crackin lookin drive, and would jump at the chance to have a pair on my Phantom (or the 33)
