When I checked out the serial numbers I mistyped 1 digit and it came back telling me 2.5efi! Can't decide whether I was happy or sad when I realised my mistake.

testdrive results....

Hi to y'all !

Went for that testdrive yesterday.

Again : big disappointment.
We drove towards the nearest lake and already had a flat tire on the trailer... hmmm... Looking closer at the trailer, I made a mistake in my judgement on it, it's pretty rust I'd say, but repairable. I also noticed that since my last visit on 23/12 a few mushrooms were growing at the back on the inside. Around the battery and also on a transom bolt and around the watertank inlet.
In the meantime I found out this boat raced twin engines in the past. It must be very solid on the transom, don't know about those mushrooms around that transom-area though... It doesn't look good as I'm writing this down...

Before hitting the water, we agreed to do a compressiontest on the engine first. When we pulled the spark plugs we noticed there was one in bad shape. (left one in the pic) We inspected the cilinders through the spark plug holes... Left bottom cilinder was burning up. The burned spark plug didn't correspond with this cillinder so it had to be moved to another cilinder. This so called 2002 rebuilt engine is ready to breakdown. Didn't do the compression test because that would be pointless...

The guy who sells it was very amazed by these findings and facts, since he never touches the engine himself by any means, and leaves the maintenance to the dealer. He showed us the invoice of the last maintenance last september. We agreed not to go on with the testdrive. I'm concidering to buy it in this shape at a much lower price and give it a new engine or rebuilt.... Whatever : this boat and engine need serious work....

In the meantime I'll keep my eyes open for other projects or boats

But hey ! It DID have a nosecone with low water pickup !
But owner told me it needs to be repaired at the sides every year , so it's not properly done...

You can also find the mushroom pictures below... Really don't know what to think of that...

2 motors, thats the reason there is such a big crack in the top deck. Couldnt handle the stress if you ask me. I would leave it like it is and search another rig
