How big was modVP racing in the UK? I would have loved to race that class.
We have never realy had any big powerboat racing over here, not since the 80's early 90's. Hopefully this is changing now..
Agree, We've never had a bridgeport last too long and have about 4 in boxes under the bench, cool motor but has no balls compared to a 2.5.
Also have a set of 180psi heads for a bridgeport if anyone is looking for them.

yeah thanks everyone, learnin loads!
the heads on it do look the same as my 1st gen 2litre xr2 heads on my old spare 150 powerheadn (2 piece).
so whats the correct way of compression testing then?
an yeah the pistons already have a flat 'cut out' and holes in them
so could i in theory shave the head so it pushes 175psi an run aviation fuel premix to make this a stonking fast motor? or am i better just sticking round the 125psi and pump fuel?
what hp would it be at 175psi an av fuel?

ok so heres a pic or the 2 sets of carbs i have.
the 1's on left are 2.5 carbs and the right are the 1's from the bridgeport.
the 1's form the bp have some of the air screws missing and the 2.5 1's have none at all? do i need to get a set or do the motors run without?
also both sets of carbs are mercarb. they look almost identical as you can see the 2.5 set is a lot cleaner, could i just swap all the jets and use the 2.5 carbs?

Carbs may look the same but the circuitry may be different. What is the number on the top of the carb behind the steel plates. It should read WH-??
The jets in the top of the carbs are bowl vent jets. You can run without them if you like.
3 3/8 on the heads is the cylinder bore size. 3 3/8" for a 2.4L, 3 1/8" is a 2.0L and 3 1/2" is a 2.5L.

Bridgeport torque settings
I found the spindle torque in the PDF manual in the "suspension" section. Again, kudos to the dude who scanned the manual and posted the PDF.
