If you have be reading my recent posts on the jackplate you will know what I've been doing this last week.
This is a link to a UK supplier of all The UNF & UNC sizes that you might need on ya Merc outboard for helicoiling.

I'm not familiar with the repair you are performing, but a "Keensert" is a much better thread repair system.

The difference being, helicoils are stainless steel.
