Hi and MPI convertion project

Hi all been a lurker for a while now thought it was about time I said Hi

I have a 96 Maxum 1900 SR with a 4.3 carb engine

I am looking at converting my engine to MPI but at the same time I want to learn about fuel injection and mapping I'm planning on using an after market ECU but with genuine marine components

I have got hold of a brand new 4.3 MPI manifold with injectors, throttle body sensors etc

So as far as I know I need

a crank trigger device (not sure how the original engine achieves this)
MPI fuel filter water separator for the fuel return line
MPI Fuel Pump
Wiring loom

And then when its all up and running a supercharger.

So if anyone can help with the parts I need or offer any advice it would be appreciated

injection

As far as no all the european inj systems have no base maps for any american engines this will mean setting up on a engine dyno or on the water with a laptop (impractical at best) the holley injection system on the other hand has a load of maps for american engines with different levels of mods and various injection components which makes it easy to set up they also can run a wide range lambda which you can set to adapt the fuel map to the optimum,I have set up the holley system and others dta, emerald, iaw but the holley should be the best option for you as it can be set up so well without the use of expensive dyno time.

good luck with your mods
Gary

Thanks for that it was an Emerald ecu I was looking at I was going to alter my stainless manifolds to accept a wide band sensor, as the emerald has a sort of auto tune function

Do you have any more info on the Holley set up?

injection

Emerald is a good system but it will take a lot of setting up, Holleys system is called PRO-JECTION i,m sure they will have a web site for more info the last one i fitted was a complete system inc 4 barrel throttle housing loom/wide band/sensors/pump etc but it was £1350 which isnt cheep but when you start looking at dyno time engine in and out etc it is a good deal.
