Offshore Mid Section
Hi All.
Im alittle green when it comes to midsections, but could anyone put me in the right direction, in what type of offshore mid fits to what type of powerhead?
I have a 15" mid, matted to a four hole cle that I bought for another project a few months ago, but just as late, I adopted an old P18 that as I speak is having a total rework....Thing is, after much head scratching, and being skint", from buying an xs as late, thats just to big and heavy anyway, Im going to have to bye both powerhead and midsection seperate. The p head will be a 96/99 2.5 efi, 0r the older 2.4 bridgport. I would like the latter type offshore mid, though Iv never done things this way before, I would reasuring to know what' fits what.
Cheers.
Graham. PS. This is a great site.

As a rough guide
2, 2.4 & 2.5 ltr will fit the only thing is the tuner will be different for each & might need to replace the intermidiate section depending on the "Pick & Mix" option

He's talking about powerheads and tuner adaptors. Don't worry about the gearbox, saddle and leg. What did your 15" mid come off. XR2 or 2.5?

It actualy came of a wrecked 2.5, that wasn't mine at the time, but your probably wondering why Im wanting a 20 offshore, when all I rearly should be doing is finding a 2.5 to fix to the 15 for exp,
The resion why is if I do sell the p18 for what ever resion , I would sooner sell it with a 2 point whatever fixed to an offshore, rarther than the more expensive 15, that I want to save for a 280 one day?, where as if I ever used that combo on a me p18, (certain death would shortly follow).
Thanks to all that replied
Will send some pic's of the boat soon Dan.

Derek Basham had a 260 EFI on his 18 and it very well indeed (well into the 80's!) - he never trimmed it out as much as with the XR2, so it wasn't as scary as you think!

A set of gold rings in the uk cost around £500, plus whatever a strip down and rebuild costs
Ive just bought 2 sets of rings off US1 {John Marles } on s+f and he said change the rings after 100 hours.
