setup for phantom???
Hi need help with setup, I will start from scratch with rigging the boat, boat is a Phantom 20´,engine 225 0ptimax 25" shaft low water pick up, prop 26" Tempest..
Questions, what steering will work the best ? jackplats/setback?rebuilding engine to 20" shaft? prop ? prop level ?
And also all other suggestions are welcome..

the 25" shaft is not really ideal! 20", or even 15" if it's available, would be far better

You'll have to cut the transom to fit the 15" though.

What do you want to use the boat for, pleasure use or racing? If it is for waterskiing then the 20" would be OK and you would not need to cut the transom. For racing the 15" would be better and the difference in handling would warrant cutting the transom.

In that case bolt it to the transom and forget about setbacks & lifters.
Can always fit em later if you want

Put the engine in the middle of the transom (no offset).
If you have low water pickups (below the prop shaft) then mount it with the prop shaft about 1 to 2 inch's below the bottom of the boat.
If your water pickups are on the side of the gerbox above the prop shaft then I would say mount it so that the top water intake hole is about 1 inch higher than the bottom of the boat.
