Trim Guage stopped working

Trim gauge has stopped working on an alpha drive, havnt done any fault finding yet but is it likely to be sender unit, if so, is it easy enough to replace and where is the best place to get Mercruiser parts, mail order/internet???

Thanks

Andy

Senders are cheap (well at least they are for v6 outboards) and i've had 2 or 3 pack-up on me in the last few years.......easy enough to fit one as well.

Matt will telll you wheres best for mercruiser parts, always worth sending TD a PM.....he will get it for you, if its not available nearer to home.

Do a few tests first. An earth onto the "sender" connection on the back of the gauge will show if it's working, then check the connections at the transom end, then take the sender apart clean and re-grease. (vaseline)

You wan't to avoid buying a sender coz they come as a pair with the limit switch, and cost about £90+ !!!!!
