Alan Baldwin
Met this guy at Brands Hatch at the weekend and he said he used race with his brother Paul in Phantoms some time ago ,I think it was in 'Aquaglide'.
Ring any bells with anybody.
He also said he started up O.R.D.A as at the time he was frustrated with the RYA.

It was by contacting Paul Baldwin that I tracked Warlord down, tucked away in a Hampshire barn.

When I spoke to Alan (around the time Ace was faffing with warlord), it was amazing how much detail he still remembered.

In 1981 Paul & Alan Baldwin, along with Alistair Kendon, contracted Steve Baker to design & build for them a 31' class II Mono, this project went on to become Warlord. It was not to be a Production Phantom, rather a one-off for the Kendon/Baldwin racing team, as they had paid Steve for the design / mould / build as their own bespoke project.
Kendon had raced various Phantoms before, including Steve's own Putney-Calais-Putney winning (1975) Phantom 23 (re-named Nixdorf Computers)
The Baldwins went on to race Bentleys and gave up with the power boating. It was a fellow Bentley racer who had bought Warlord and had it in a barn for 20 years.

After we used it as a base for the plug of Swipewipes (stretched to 32', and running surface altered and with Steve Bakers help, brought up to date with his latter thinking) I sold it to Stuart Eyre, AKA ' Ace', and he put it back together with the intention of racing in Marathon D, or Historic (single big block), but I think his intended co-driver (' Captain Chaos' on here) bottled out, and so it hasn't actually seen active duty, and currently resides ashore on the IOW.

I believe it's pretty much race ready and has been for some time, but the Captain's Testicles are famously quite minute, so hopes of a showing aren't looking too good.

I have to be honest, Jon is correct; Ive just not got the 'nads for it
I do feel incredibly guilty to the owner 'Ace' though. He graciously let me spend countless months of my life grafting with Big T @ Extreme Marine HQ, he let me run around organising & collecting all the parts, insisted I did the 300 mile round trip (sometimes 2 or 3 times a week)..... all whilst he was away earning a crust or at home procreating with the Mrs . Little did he know I was going to go down with a servere and incurable case of the homos
P.s I gather the boats likely to be up for grabs soon(ish)
