Lightbulb European Championships

Just want to welcome all class 3B and 3C teams to Nynashamn in Sweden for the European Championships.
The EC in class 3C has been cancelled in Norway and moved to Sweden instead.
The dates are 17-18 August 2007.
Official invitation will be send to RYA within a week.

Xr 2

I´m not sure about the XR 2. If you should follow the UIM rulebook (730.1) it says:
"From 2006 a transition period for the use of EPA/CARB allowed engines will commence. Where non EPA/CARB engines represent less than one third of the participating boats in a Worl Championship event, as described in UIM Offshore rul 800.3, thet event will run. However, in the following UIM calendar year non EPE/CARB engines will not be allowed in the specific class."

That means the XR 2 should not be allowed, but I haven´t heard anything about it from UIM. So I suggest you send them an email for answers...

And yes, Nynashamn is situated about 50km from Stockholm, and Jonas Ny is from here. I think his old B-23 is still running in the UK?

Fair thought. Its the towing half way across europe that costs. The Italiains are very good at giving it. E500 for attending. Helps with the fuel for the tow vechile.

Ec

Hi again!

Our intention is that foreign teams wont have to pay any entrance fee. We think thats the best for everyone, instead of pricemoney.

Nice place that. Raced there with Roy Smith in 04 trying to defend our title. Nice big course, loads of rocks and stuff, and as Doug said a great viewing area. But take some midgie spray cos they really bite there in the evenings.

Your right Ian, it falls the weekend between Allhallows and cowes. That'll be a no for us then. Shame now we're running better it would have been good to race there again. Even with the best will in the world it would be very difficult to do everything. Will have to save our money for Italy.

But U.I.M. Homologation say's that XR2 is permited till 2010.

I have bought RING 20C with XR2 this year and I was hoping to play with you guys in III C class next season. And what?? Will my engine be illegal??

Sorry for asking stupid questions but I'm new in this stuff

There are no real stupid questions in this sport, but there are hundreds of stupid answers.

It is very difficult to get an answer in writing that you can rely on. My personal advice is to write in to the RYA and ask the specific question you need answered, then wait for the reply.

There are too many grey areas to rely on hearsay answers if you intend racing next year.

Homologation is valid yes,but the 3 C class is changing and the epa engines will be the only ones alloud to use.The change will happend the next year when there is more than 70% of epa engines at the world championship race. This years worlds will be in september in Italy so we will have to wait and see what happends.
