Sorry i must disagree.
Over 40 boats entered RB8 and the cost was in the region of 10-50 grand depending on size of boat to compete.(Exluding the cost of the boat)
Plus friends and or family had taken time of work following the boats around the country sometimes driving 7 hours a day then hours fixing the boats.
The question is why did they all do this?
I didn't take any of the answers as negative only banter.
Our team entered RB8 to do well but more importantly to enjoy the event and have fun.

Oh go on...what you need is a nice lookin good reliable matched pair of XR2's...
6 grand to you, steve's got 'em along with all the safety gear and advice you need for racing. And if you ask nicely I am sure steve could have 'em bolted on before the poker run.

Sounds good its not as scary as you may think there is not a huge amount your need and one would expect that you probably have most of it already.
1. day licence £70 ish no need for a full one yet and if you upgrade the money you have paid comes off. (depending on the event status)
2. 2 crash helmets mainly orange in colour but need to comply with BS6658B OR UN ECE 22-05 & SNELL M2000, M2005 RECOMENDED OVER 80MPH BS6658A SNELL SA2000, SA2005 . Would advice that you get ones with a small apature like simpson really cos if you stuff bike helmets tend to distroy!
3. life vests Hutch Wilco's or grabners but think some one has offered these to you already. If not Tony Davis would hook you up with a pair of new ones.overalls (dont have to be fancy race ones but not expensive could help with them) boots option and a divers knife.
4 Scrutineering gear: flares, anchor and warp, bucket, diving mask, first aid kit paddles tow line 2x mooring lines fire extinguisher chart.
I might have missed a few bits off but if you email me lance@lsmarine.co.uk can send you a scrutineering check sheet.
hope this gives you a start but anthing else give me a shout.

Yes and extremly well done to all on a very hard and lenghty race. (i was there) But that was one race its over and is not the offshore racing i am refering too. Lets hope that now all of these boats and teams you are refering too come along and start racing regually and get the numbers back up!
I did not aim any of my posts at you sorry if you thought that and BANTER IS GOOD!
As you rightly said i too enter to do well but more importantly want to enjoy and have fun!!!

Spoken like a true lawyer.
Well I have certainly thought about putting a 300 pmax on the back but the only reason I am willing to part with these engines as a pair is to get Taz's EFi's, another pair of engines that have good and known history and matched pairs of engines like these are not that easy to find.
I could throw in another pair of props, the 28p ET-Lightenings as well as the 25p Laser II's.
PM me your best offer.

Hi Pash
I came all the way from Scotland to check out Reeldeel, to my surprise i see the XR2 option will be very simple to do as you still av the bolt holes from when it had a pair on,
For that extra kick maybe leave the 300 in the middle

The odd basic will be about it really. I made a point of making sure the Midas wouldn't fit into any class, just to avoid the temptation, 6ltr really does cause a tingle "want.want" feeling though.
