If it's 1.3L then OCRDA have a B Class and currently Wanda Race Klubb have the E9000 green 1.3L too, not sure about any other 1.3 activity tho

The class still exists, there just isn't any body doing it at the moment. It's a real shame, as there's been some terrific racing in the past, and it's an affordable class to get you started.
I'd have loved to have competed in it, but I'd have been at a rather large weight disadvantage!

Agree…would be a good place to start.
I want to start with some racing but can’t justify spending as much as is needed for in 3C….and I really like the old 2 stroke 90 hp Yamaha’s.
What can we do to get this class started?

You could try ORCDA and see if they have interest in getting a few boats together for the class. Seems like your best option.

If I were to find a sponser to get me to the mainland next year then I'd do some races in the south,
Will do anything reasonably accessible by water from the Island!!

I do remember Pennpromo did say he would be interested in 1.3L offshore so that could be 3 of you, once you get a few of you out on the water i am sure it will attract a few more new and old faces.

I am very sure you could get 1.3 running.
I know for a fact that several events next year would welcome you if you have three or more boats. This would definately work if you have three, and with OCR having similar boats, BOB would be one to talk to....

Right, I've been thinking about my options regarding boats for next year and have an idea,
I want to race next year but am obviously on a limited budget!
Therefore without the addition of a large sponser (which I think it's fair to say is more than unlikely!) I cannot handle the cost of getting a boat off the Island and towing it up the country!
What I can do however is access locations such as Drivers Wharf (and obviously Cowes!) by water which cuts the cost by a tremendous amount.
Also, with some careful planning and effort I could manage to get the boat to locations such as Bournemouth perhaps 3 or 4 times a year.
Because of this limited budget the ideal class for me is 1.3ltr, also I just happen to have an engine to suit this!!
The only way I could justify putting the money and commitment into a season like that though would be the knowledge that there would be the competition to make it worthwhile.
I am aware of the national series but that is far too expensive.
What would suit me (without trying to sound self-centered!) and other minimum budget racers/newbies such as Scand would be to get some communication on a personal level and organise something between us.
In my opinion a steady attendance of 4/5+ similar boats at each event would be a high enough level of competition to keep the competitors interested and make it worthwhile.
And I think there must be others out there in a similar situation to me!
We all know that both the racers and potential rigs are out there, they just need scraping together to try and get something going!
So I'm not trying to start a new class or provide a solution to the UK Powerboat Racing Scene, just to get a few "new and old faces" into an existing (and probably the most affordable) class. And who knows, with 1.3ltr being such a beginner-friendly class it could draw more people into it!

At present we've got about 6 who are in the frame for the E9000 class in 2008, furthest would be Cardiff i think if that helps.

Hi !
Offshore 3B is now 1750cc and 115 hp !!!!!
So now you can run a Evinrude E-TEC 115hp in that class !
I´v got high hopes for that class now here in Sweden !
And my hopes is that it will grow again now in UK as well !
With the lager engines you are going to be able to run bigger mono hulls and cats that will suit your conditions in UK !
I would like to get contact with someone in UK that is interessted in the 1.7l class !
It is a geat class that you can compete in and don´t get a second morge on your house !
It would be nice if 3B would be a large international class again and not only to be run here in the nordic contrys
Does anyone in UK have the molds for the Backdraft !? The B23 moulds are here in sweden and bouth boats would be perfect for 3B in UK i think !?

Class 3 B in the UK.
OK,
Here is a deal I will set up for you:
If you can organise and arrange and guarantee a minimum of THREE entries per race, I will put on three National Championship races for 3B in the UK in 2008. I will run them in conjunction with our planned BASIC races.
Three is not a hard number to get, and there will be other incentives offered to help with the costs, but here is your chance to get this going.
Three is not a huge number, and I am sure that if you have had three races during the year, then ORDA will include you in the Torquay Finals, giving you five races for 2008, which is not a poor position to start from.
