I don't think it's a rule, but I have been told that officials are calling it dangerous now - but nobody has said that to me or told me any specific reasons. I'm starting to get a bit paranoid now - especially when my boat is discussed behind my back but not to my face .......................
Fury (Microlink) is a full canopy boat not a partial canopy.

Its all very strange, it's not as if you've built the boat behind closed doors. Everyone has been able to see its progress from day one, so surely if any of the officials had concerns over the design surely they could have contacted you during to the build.
As everyone has said, it did look good out there, hope you get it sorted soon.

If i was going to start again rigging a boat for serious long haul offshore racing then the deisgn of Apro and Cookee's new boat is the way i would go. However the screens would have to be bullet proof and the rear deck flat.
Once your 10 miles out to sea and pushing your boat to what ever your limit's are then your on your own and you have make your own decisions.

Here here, It's as if some smug official has been watching Cookee spend all that time and money, knowing he could not race!

What problems did Markus and Dean have?
The article said "loss of power". Engines? Drives?

Yes, Thanks Tone, but your late mother has still not forgiven me !
Still Julie`s carpets and curtains looked great going round the Bay and so much more practical don`t you think ???
Now for the fun bit, do I put the pictures up of your early training days ??
Signed you ever loving.

It would have been an interesting exercise to go through it with him, but it was too late to change the design of the canopy - it turns out the only perceived issue is the rear seats and how the driver and throttleman exit through the back and between the rear seats - clearly adding a hatch in the roof would leave the roof severely weakened.
I have now submitted photos and dimensions to be forwarded ironically to Bob Wartinger for approval ..............................

A belated thansk to Bob and his team for putting on a really good event. Must have been so much work and I'm sure a lot more behind the scenes than is obvious.
Some good racing in proper conditions! All things considered a pretty healthy entry list too and hopefully more boats and teams to come and play in the future.
Thanks
Adam

Just a quick thank you to everyone for making it an event to remeber.
Adam, yes it is hard work, it's all most a full time job as you get nearer the event.
We are in the process of moving house, so will post again in a few weeks with the the results of the Charity Donations that we collected, it's in the thousands, so well done to you all.
