Thanks Mike - ya, there's SPAs, SACs and MCZs all over the place. Fortunately the event has been taken to heart by senior members of the Irish government and there's some rarely-seen common sense being applied.

Venture Cup to be put on UIM Calendar.
As you may already know, we attended the UIM's General Assembly in Monaco last week to further our plans for the Venture Cup.
In the first instance, it's important that we state clearly that we recognise, respect and champion the fact that the UIM is the global governing body for our sport. Furthermore, the Irish Sailing Association (ISA) is our lead National Authority for the racing elements of Venture Cup 2016, and will be our primary day-to-day point of contact and instruction. The Royal Yachting Association (RYA) is the competent authority for the part of the race which takes place in Northern Ireland waters and their authority, experience and guidance is also recognised and appreciated.
We were delighted to have been given an extremely warm welcome in Monaco by all senior members from the above, and our discussions have put us firmly on a path which will see us working closely together to deliver a race next June which will be hugely rewarding for you as a competitor, and for our sport in general. The oversight and requirements of the UIM, ISA & RYA will ensure that Venture will be delivered to a level we can all be proud of.
Finally, we're delighted to confirm that the Venture Cup will appear on the official UIM International Calendar when it is published on December 15th.
We look forward to telling you more about this, and much more, at the Teams Meeting in London on November 20th. If you haven't already registered, please send an email to aidan@ventureoffshorecup.com as places are filling fast!

You know those little jack-russells? Tiny little buggers, lots of noise, never boring. Totally nuts but braver than anything. Well here's our version. The smallest entry in the Venture World Cup, with the biggest dollop of lunacy!
Team: The Beaver Returns
Boat: Revenger
Length: 8m
Engines: 2 x Mercruiser petrol inboards
Total Horsepower: 600
Crew: Brian Pelham, Thomas Pelham, Neil White, Stuart Unwin, Tony Walker, Adam Benner, Dan Higgins
