Southampton
Anyone around on Saturday (3rd Sept)? I was thinking of launching at Mercury Yacht Harbour and having a blast over to Cowes. Maybe lunch at that pub down the river on the left. High water is about 12.00 lunchtime, low at 17.30. Forecast is sunny Saturday and heavy showers on Sunday.

Chaos, truck, and myself are out on sat, so could possibly meet up, lunch at the folly sounds cool
we'll be coming from the Itchen river (farther up Southampton water, on the right).
chaos and truck will be launching at the public slip under the Itchen bridge.

Yeah, it was good, chaos managed a couple of superb submarine manouvres!
Was a bit sloppy, the oul woman wasn't too impressed with the requent 'air' that appeared beneath our boat.
But all in all, a good day, and an excellent lunch.

. . . mooring in the south of France, where the weather is nice.
Seriously though, you can fly down to Nice for next to nothing, and would probably get a greater number of enjoyable boating days in a season than you do here. If you're not a rufty tufty ribnobber and don't like it when it's choppy or a bit damp, you're in the wrong country!
