Its ring 21/extreme 21.
TD, is this the same boat Gav has the moulds for? Or is there 2 extreme 21's? One for inboard and one for outboard? Or is there 1 extreme 21 hull and 2 extreme 21 decks?

Its an Extreme - they were modified from an inboard to an outboard - Cougar took on the moulds after extreme and the latest are Honda moulds (so I'm told)

Not exactly correct! you shouldn't believe all you are told!!!
After building the first 8 boats for Honda, we parted due to a clash of personalities, But Honda wanted to continue having boats built. We did a deal, and Cougar borrowed my moulds to make a plug, and then another set of moulds which they had the use of for 5 years. This second set of moulds were built with an outboard well, and the 8 boats that i built were retro fitted with it.
The last few boats that have been built were an updated version of the second generation, with the spray rails altered along with the deck.
"Not a lot of people know this", but the first boat that we built, which was the exhibit at the london boat show (mounted on it's side) was actually a sterndrive boat that we had partially built prior to doing the deal for the race series, and for some reason had a layer of glass missing from the deck, and an extra layer in the bottom instead.
Probably not within the spirit of "one design" but then neither was the kevlar black one that was built a couple of years later!

Coz in "one design" all boats are supposed to be identical, and the first one we built was different to the following seven that we supplied, along with the 2nd generation kevlar boat!
Out of interest, the "7" were moulded for us by Mark Pascoe at Vulture Ventures, and all weighed within 5kg of each other.

So...........there has been lots of debate in which were faster hulls.
The original moulds, until last year were always up front with the latest hulls only inheriting places as they were never in the hands of anyone who could set them up.
Mine is a second gen. mould that had proved to be amoungst the fastest.............until.............the last race in Guernsey, one of the new boats took easy 10 seconds per lap on the fleet. Historically these new hulls mainly came last every race and were thought to be too heavy.............last Season was a lesson to us all............those things fly compared to the old hulls. (GQ, Premier Cru, Cyberguard Mermaid)
It seems no one owner could set them up until Cougar/Honda showed them how they could be prepared.
This Season is going to be a struggle for the old hulls in the one make(?).
I see there have been problems with the 225 hull build. Was going to go up this year to 225 but missed out on the BAR boat.
The structural build isn t up to the older boats (gussets and webs not re-inforced.
Anyway, you only get out what you put in...................

I've always been under the impression that the fastest boat was the original show boat that we built with the light deck/stiff bottom, seem to think it won the championship several times!

Dunno who is building them.......R2 was, some of the 225 having new boats insist he does the hull, I think Cougar are on the fit out.
Most of the boats (150s) are all weights, we have 60kg on one of the similar boats. (Watch that shift before the 1st race)?
Min. weight is 1050 kg
