Hi all,
Hoping to catch sight of some of the RB boats finishing the leg to Newcastle tomorrow, from the land unfortunately although hope to be afloat for the Sunday. Does anyone know if the North pier would be a good/best vantage point?

Thanks sinkunit0, also just found a picture on the Port of Tyne website which gives a rough idea of the start line.
Don't mean to ask a stupid question (although I normally do ), will that be used as the finish line tomorrow?

Sinkunito
We have arranged a berth at the marina on Sat night.
We are going up tomorrow morning with the boat in tow.
Is there a slip on the north side of the river? i have been on google earth but can only see one on the south side by River/harbor drive which looks like a slip for a dinghy club.
Is this the one you are refering to?

Will keep a look out, had hoped to be out on a mate's boat but am now going to be out training with the lifeboat (A85 rib), which by strange coincidence might be exercising in the area

It's ok.

Phantom 31 Warlord
I was speaking to Paul Baldwin the other day and he mentioned that Brian Henndicote had perhaps built a longer version of the 31'.
Warlord was a fantastic boat, Steve built it knowing that I was likely to break it, therefore I would think that it would be in as new condition today.
What state is it in now? Is the engine still there?

Welcome to the forum Alistair.
We'll have to get you a ride out in 'WARLORD' for old times sake, and it's successor.
I'm sure you know Harry Baldwin has joined the forum (I'm assuming it was him who told you about this site) maybe we could get all the old mob out for a run at some point.

I used to be a Phantom dealer and remember Steve laying up Warlord in the mould, he also produced a Cruiser ( I think it was also a one off ) but i can't remember the size of it, may of even been the 31ft hull with a cruiser deck all i can remember is Steve was working on it for ages, Steve was not just a boat builder like most he is a very talented boat designer,

I reckon the cruiser he was referring to is the one off that's now in the Channel Islands, not the 28 of Mike's.

I don't suppose there is a picture in the galleries of either of the cruisers?
I love to see what they looked like.
