Scrap Heap is a blast
Yes, I was an "expert" ex as in has been and spert as in drip under pressure. We did make quite a nice stepped mono out of a load of steel sheet that we cut off old filing cabinets and frames made from 1" x 1" box. Unfortunately the boat was stuffed because the engine that we "found" was not ideal, as we had made quite a niceimpression of a surface drive we weren't allowed to start the motor by the health & safety guy until we got it to the lake. By then it was too late to put in the missing piston! My concept was to use a peugeot turbo deisel, still run underwater if necessary! The V8 was a dog. Also I came up with a fully variable ratio drive system using the back axle from a Transit van and clamping up the input shalft. Ran out of time to try it so that didn't help.
I would recommend it to anyone as its really three days of very good fun and damned hard work too. In fact I would quite relish being the expert again, particularly against Mr Fuller !

I'm also rather excited by the thought of the chance to be up against 'Woody' the legendary Scrapheaper! lol
We'll have to see if it all happens, if it does, I'm sure it'll be a right crack.
