Any particular reason the tubes are nowhere near the water Tony? Or with seats etc will they be a bit nearer the water?

We hired this rib on the Isle of Man and it was the same - walk from one side to the other and it tipped alarmingly and then settled on the tubes!

Love the consoles as well - they look great!

I can think of loads of techy answers, no upholstery, no fuel, only got a lickle motor instead of a pair of V6's, but it would be more honest to say they got their calculations wrong!!!

Once the boat is completely finished, we shall simulate the weight of various motors/combinations, and if we should build more of them we'll reduce the freeboard to suit!!!

It's also feasible that if having the tubes so high proves to be a problem for them, they can always lower them during the winter.

Joking aside though, it's still faster than a certain P22!!!!
Ho, ho, ho

Well if your going to put a proper engine on it I, might take that auxillary off your hands for a cheap price.

Nice bit of boat design though. Tubes clear of the water will give you the speed as I am sure you are aware. But its a crowded market with Ring producing something very similar.

What length is she, just might copy you and chop a perfectly good speed boat up to make a rib, but want tubes on the water line at rest.

There's summat strange about the hearing abilities of ribbers!

How many times does it have to be said, "it's a one off, made by the guys who work for me, for themselves", yet the ribbers here talk constantly about "the market place", and it's possible position within it!

Strange!

Confused (agin) of Shepperton

Hey that's a bit unfair isn't it? I asked about market place and then Termie is only other person to mention the possible marketplace, following Tony's comments that a few more 'may' be made.

Anyway, the market for any new RIB design is going to be talked about because, IMHO, there are quite a few RIB builders out there who don't do it particularly well!! And no, I won't name names!

Perhaps your goggles are getting steamed up at the sight of such a gorgeous boat?

That’s a big vertical to the flange, TD. Are the tubes ever going to touch the water?

Care to expand, Matt? What is your judgement based on? I think there are a couple of RIB builders who take some beating (IMHO, of course!)

It certainly LOOKS nice but the real test is how it performs in the water, surely?

Does that make it a hardboat with tubes on, or is it a ridgid inflatable boat?

You must come out with us some time and we'll see if we can change your mind (just a teensy bit) about RIBs!!!

Yeah but your cruising area is limited to the Medina and Port Solent, I heard!

I can answer that! the hull is a 24'10" Extreme, so, you lose a bit of length FWD cutting the topsides down, then add a bit with the rubber, Fore & AFT, so I would think it's about 27', or about 8.25 Metres for you ribnobbers.

(we Powerboaters usually quote in feet 'n' inches, coz it's much more macho, even the European (metric city) god of powerboating, Fabio Buzzi, quotes in ' & ".

It's usually Gay people who use Metres

I think they're hoping for 'non destructive' testing to begin with!
