..the trouble with split personalities (Was gonna put skitzofreeneea.. but couldn't spell it) is that you have to keep an eye on what the other fella puts....
However, I just checked on Fibnet and the stories the same there too...... nobody said the tubes "must touch the water", just questions on what effect they have when (apparantly) mounted so high...

without resolting to personal insults!!! dont you think they were judgmental questions though?? all i was trying to express and question an opinion (like urself). Adam obviously felt he head to justify his design as its not the stereo typical rib and i think he does well... dont you?
I love hard boats, I love ribs, ive been shopping for one for a year and a half... I suppose what you obviously took exception to is my frustration, I am bored of every rib looking the same, (super yacht tenders a very expensive exception) they all seem to be yellow, orange or grey have a stainless a frame, a centre console and twin jokey seats!! Rib manufactures do not seem to think out of the box (not for the littlemans wallett anyway). why cant I have a self draining moulded deck, a full width console (maybe with a cuddy) a hard boat like refined interior and deep sea performance and speed.... something for me and something for me girly... all for less money than a small house

Glen,
Is this what you are looking for? As it is made by Hydrolift it probably fails on the less money than a small house criteria, but it shows that manufacturers are thinking along the same lines as you.
This idea will no doubt be copied by other rib manufacturers in the future - hopefully with a tidier bow treatment.... I think that V-Type Ribs have a sister company that produces an affordable cuddy rib.
Cheers.

Very funky
I know what you mean abou the telly tubby thing: I usually feel pretty daft dressed in full foul weather gear leaving Poole when the hard boat boys and girls are dressed in shorts & t shirts.
Here's a link to the V-Type site:
http://www.v-type.com/aquaflyte_cabin.htm
As far as I am concerned something like the picture below would be a step in the right direction for a sports rib. I can only hope that Scorpion will match this type of console to one of their hulls. Mmmm nice...

You jest.. This is what Hydrolift have to say on the subject
"The robust rubber pontons makes embarking/disembarking and mooring the boat easier. With the practical S-24RIB you dont have to think about fenders."
Cool helm though....

Matt, don't beat about the bush... say what ya think!
Actually, I'm with you on this..and I've got a fine set of toobs (honest!).....
...but you have, once again, missed out the whole point of toobs, which I pointed out to you earlier... they make the helmsman more virile......
It's the cost thing I can't get over. Why? Is Hypalon more expensive than gold? Damn these market forces
Now, with my Ribsta's head on...**FECK OFF, YA YOUNG NOBBA. WHEN YA GROW UP YOU'LL WANT THE COMFORT OF A MOBILE PILE CUSHION TOO....**
And Glen? What's wrong with dressing like a Telly Tubby? Women find it attractive.....

The consoles in the prestige rib are a splash of Mark Pascoes original 8/9 metre setup.

Yeah,
I think this boat is now being sold as a Ribeye Sport 800 as well.
With that low bow & tapered tubes I bet this will stuff its nose like a good un in the right conditions (Matt - agree with your comments on that one).
Cheers.

The ribeye sport 800 is identical to the Pascoe 8m (except it's made of 'papier mashe' in South africa!
