Not a bad idea - have a look at this one; http://www.superyachttimes.com/edito...ticle/id/4036/

Pretty darn cool - interior looks just like a Porsche Carrera GT

Yes, very nice. Mike, I think you need to stain it first. Mahogany, or antique pine?

I will take your advice on that one as you obviously speak from experience

I was thinking a dash over with general purpose creosote might suffice , but by and large its a good job that there so many helpful people on here to point me in the right direction. Obviously you speak from experience and I take it that creosote is a no no for boats ? .......................................

Or will you ask a Friend ?

(In Kent ?)

Very little point. Kent & west sussex just don't mix.

I think if Creosote does it for you, and is the first thing that springs to mind at Ring Towers, then Creosote it should be.
If you fail to get the required finish, there's always 'Fablon'.

The Ring Powercraft Racing Team – supported by Raymarine - will be racing at Cowes to raise funds for Help for Heroes who do so much for those members of Her Majesty’s Forces who are returning to the UK having been crippled and maimed in Iraq & Afghanistan.

Details on how to contribute to the H4H's fund will be announced shortly.

How about we invite some of the Heros down to drivers and take them out for a blast over to cowes for lunch as a thank you for what they have done for our country.

H4h

Good to see that the Modern Racers are also choosing to help raise funds for the "HEROES"

The Classic Revival Rally have already nominated them as their Charity during the 3 days they are in Torquay maybe we should work together?

H4H Ref No 20100113-6647-3555

Plus there is the chance to win a £500 Kirker Travel voucher in a competition to guess the time THUNDERBOLT takes to reach Torquay on August 25th, her time in 1961 was 7hrs 25mins...forms will be available on CLASSIC OFFSHORE
website. She will be travelling down with "celebrity" on board hopefully to be announced shortly.

Bloody good idea, I am amazed at you Barry, didn't think your brain was still funtioning correctly!

I am sure the new Drivers club could organise something like that and if there are sufficient boats interested we could make the appropriate enquiries. I am sure the "boys" would jump at the opportunity, it would be a great day out for them and all of us for that matter. Would be very worthwhile IMHO.

Incidently, I had to suffer seeing your pic on my screen for a whole day this week, It was 'orrible!). (My desktop picks photos randomly from the Picaso database and it chose you that day from the "Princess Anne RB08 reception".

I agree, this would be a great day out and a little thank you for all that is being done on our behalf.
Our raceboat will not be completed for some time but we can arrange a substitute boat ( Ranger 25 or cough! , splutter! cough ! a RIB !!) What am I saying ???

Two pics showing progress of the Ring 34 deck.

Thoughts from The Man who is doing all the work!!

“Deck is progressing well, with just a few final details to build onto the plug. We should start with filler proper at the beginning of April, spending a month rubbing down and filling, rubbing down and filling, rubbing down and filling, rubbi........and f..... r... f... r....f... .... Rufil, RUFIL etc ad nauseum”.

That really is looking amazing! Cannot wait to see the finished product...

I hope it will have the 3 ridges down to the bow, similar to the older Ring designs?

I ask that every week and that is why he never gives me coffee or biscuits! He's getting really grumpy with me!
Mind you, finding the time to build this boat and trying to make a living building other boats at the same time is stressfull I am sure for an old man like him!

He's a good lad though.

Hi Jon,

Thanks for the vote of confidence.

There is one thing thats certain....

'The Bullshit stops when the flag drops'

I am sure all 3 new boats will be in with a chance and each showing different strengths in their design .
