What speed are you expecting with 6.2's?

For the 40 and the 50 footers nothing is decided yet, as this depends so much on clients choice and the classes that the boats are run in.....

I can't answer that but I know Mike Ring will.

can't wait to see the finished photos really looks great
maybe a silly question but why do many manufactures only have one spray rail on the last step and then it is normally further to the outside edge
I would of thought and obviously I am wrong that the last spray rail should be similar to the ones further forward on the previous steps ie ... 2 or more in the premises that if the hull is sliding out the fact their are 2 spray rails may give more grip than just the one on the outer edge ... like I say I know this is not the case as most manufactures reduce down to just the one

Well, Scand,
I am not really sure....
I ran SVC with one engine successfully and someone suggested we should try 2 this time so I am hoping for the upper 60s but as Mike and I are getting on in years I dont want to frighten ourselves and stress the other younger members of the team with figures approaching Warp speeds of 70 MPH, so we will probably go for a solid handling boat and an 'X' height of minus 2".
We have been promised access to props from Solas at very special prices. This could be our Ace as you will agree propping is most important.
Any advice or little pointers from your experiences that you may feel free to give us will be most gratefully received
Mike

Aft rails
If you look at the non racing photos in the gallery `cfun`,you can see that on a lot of boats, only the outboard spray rail is continued aft.The planing area is usually left uncluttered.
Submerged spray rails simply increase wetted surface and turbulence, and worsen slamming when compared to an uncluttered bottom.
It can be a grey art getting the right blend.

Thanks FF, certainly appears that the more popular theory is no spray rail low down and then only the one, I can see the logic in the extra turbulence and maybe drag you point out, I was just wondering weather having spray rails low down may give the stern more buoyancy when landing back in the water albeit this in turn would as you say probably lead to more slamming, but I still would of thought it may give a boat more bite in the turns perhaps not so important in endurance but possibly useful in circuit style P1 racing
