New Boat..ish
I don’t want to detract from my mate on this forum i.e. Gav, but an old friend of mine is looking to build and get back boat building his Boss 21.
It is a great looking boat, and takes the P*** out of P21 in the rough.
Nik will build you a bespoke boat, and it makes a P21 look like it is 25 years history.
Niks number is 07971 619150

He's been talking about this for the last 5 years or so, mostly at boatshows when the moment gets him all excited, but I'd been told that the moulds are shot, as well as in dispute over ownership.
As for it being a better boat "in the rough" than a P21, well all I can say to that is that you must be wearing those rose coloured spectacles again, or perhaps you've been on those weird cigars again! Or put even simpler, you do talk some shit sometimes!
There's one for sale on boatsandoutboards, why not buy it and show all them deluded p21 owners how wrong the are!

Judging by your last few posts, it seems you don't particularly rate phantoms?

I was always the polite member of the team, hate to think how Alan would have worded it, but then you have been desperately trying to get a reaction for a while so you can't really complain!
I'm not that keen on Phantoms either, much prefer Rings for obvious reasons, but to suggest that a Boss ( ) is better in any way is pretty lame, but then I seem to remember that you rated the Chaudron pretty high, so I'll just have to accept that your a bit of a knob!!!

Well imo having seen this boat (somewhere) I`m not sure you can say that it makes the phantom hull look dated. TBH I think this looks well out of date, no nice lines etc etc, all it needs is the bat car wings at the arse end then it would be really modern if I was looking through really bad glasses!
Each to their own tho.

Tony, I appreciate “your kind words” on two posts on this thread.
You are absolutely right; I was looking for a reaction!
Life is so PC these days, I yearn for the good old days of free speech and good old English boys such as Alan, Ron, Graham, Matt et all taking over a Cornish town for a weekend!
I still believe the Phantom was well ahead of its time. But, that was when I was 17, I’m nearly 40 now.
Still man hasn’t walked on the moon since I was 5.

Absolutely correct - the plug is instock.

Wasn't referring to the rights of the boat, just to the ownership of the moulds, which have been in a boatyard in Shepperton for the last zillion years!
When you say the plug is instock, I assume you don't mean the original working wooden one.
Nik has spoken to me on a couple of occasions about building them for him, but it's never got any further than idle chat at boatshows.
I imagine he's hoping to sell a few to fund the construction of the moulds!
Interesting comments about the age of a Phantom, as I believe the P21 is a lot more recent than a late 80's designed Boss.
And I certainly couldn't be described as "pc", coz I like to call "a spade a spade" ,or a "nob a nob"!!!!!!
