Phantom Smashes Record At Coniston
Hutchy's just smashed Cookee's record at Coniston in a Phantom 20 fitted with 2.5 efi turning a 26 Trophy at 9000 rpm
First leg 96.4 mph
Second leg 94.9
Average speed was 95.64 mph.
Cookee and Bob Mcarthy both did 90 mph.
Pete Smith did 103 mph in a Summerford mod vp.
Hutchy's running again tomorrow and hoping for better conditions, he said it was very windy .

Excellent! An outstanding performance.
I just called Steve Baker to tell him, and he said, 'Tell Steve Hutch, he does know there's no warranty on that doesn't he!'.
Hutchy contacted me a couple of days ago and asked if I knew what SB considered the 'max design speed' of a P20 to be. A loaded question it would seem.

Boat ran over 97 in testing and it wouldn't surprise me if it hits 100 if conditions are right

The prop he was going to use was a 25 yam but he spun the bush on Saturday so used a 25 renegade on Sunday and spun the bush on that. The Trophy was fastest in testing and is fitted with a heavy duty flo torque hub
