What; you mean 'Splash' it! I thought that was a no-no on here.
How much do you think it costs to run a helicopter?

I don't think it's OTT at all, in fact I think that's exceptional good value for money if split the 4 ways. 2 people on board the helicopter, probably 1 man day chargeable, fuel, landing fees etc, plus cost of purchasing & maintaining the helicopter, learnig to fly it, camera equipment.
Alastair could easily be out of pocket over 100K to get to the point of filming us, and he needs to pay it back somehow!
There's talk of a few boats doing a special film day later in the season, and I'll defo be at the front of the queue - it's very rare to have an opportunity to get aerial footage, but if ya think it's too much, don't buy it, you're under no obligation.

Anyone had any wedding photos done recently? I was at a wedding earlier this year with a top shelf photographer capturing the day - and he charges for the day, and then charges again for the photos!

ok understand where your coming from Matt but 117 quid for a vid in my opinion is too much! would have been better to arrange a fee prior to the poker run ....ie, 20 boats @ £23.50 added onto the entrance fee?

What you've forgotten is he came along for free, with no guarantee of anyone buying anything. So he took all the risk that we'd be there, right place right time, and buy some of shots.
I agree, if you were properly arranging a day's photoshoot that you'd agree all the charges up front, but this time no one's under any obligation to spend anything.
