Ring 20 with 15" set back???
Hello
My Marshan 21 is going in the garage for a while now for some hull work and refit. However i am using the engine and aux's to fit on my Ring 20.
The engine is an Evinrude 225 with 20" shaft 87
Because of the short shaft, the cavitation plate is 4" up the transom which is to high. so i am going to need to fit a set back bracket. i was going to use the one off the marshan which has a 15" set back.
My question is, is 15" set back excessive for a ring 20? or a marshan for that case?
If it is to much, how much would you recommend as i can fabricate one but would prefer not too (lazy)?
or if it is ok what engine height would suit it?
And last but not least does anyone recognise what type of prop this could be,
it is a 4 blade, i have not had much experience with props!
sorry for all the questions!
Thanks John

Just to add, the power lift jack plate is unserviceable as the ram has been removed by the previous owner and so will not be fitted unless someone has a ram and pump for sale?

20" engine runs and pumps water very well at the 24" ring transom

Hi John,
I am running a laser 23P and my gear box bow is level with the bottom of boat. speeds 66.9 gps 2 up and fuel and oil, nice steady ride not too flighty
58-59 rpm, your will be a bit quicker as mine is a heavy old boat.. with lots of gear on it,
John
