what gearbox are you using if it is a standard one i cant see you finding much more speed and using a 24 four blader may be too much for the 2.4 to handle. i used a 24 chopper on mine with a 2.5 200 and i got 68 mph at 6200 rpm but i have just tryed a 24 raker 1 and i got 72.2 mph at 6100 rpm so if you can find a raker that has been machined for a merc shaft that could be worth a go.

hi andy mine is a worked 2.5 but when it was standed it was reving 6100 too 6600 on a laser 2 then i had a tempest 23 got it too about 6000rpm the tempest is a good alround prop too.but with a 2.4 your revs should be up there too there abouts.

I'm wondering if I have a faulty rev counter as the figures don't work out with revs, prop, and speed its doing.flat out it will only go to 5200-5300 max? I was told should go to around 5800 but never seen that.

I think a Fury might work so I'll keep looking out for a second hand one. I intend to have my Tempest thinned, sharpened and balanced at the end of the season. That should pick up a few revs and then I can afford a little extra cupping for some more lift.
