OK, we'll leave it this time, but next time it'll be the "genital cuff" for you!

Not long left to run on this one so you'll have to be quick!!!
Funny you brought that link up. That was me selling those tabs on ebay. I just listed another set last night. Those are made by one of my suppliers, Dana Marine Products. They're a nice tab, but a smaller, lighter style than the tabs I manufacture. I have about twenty sets of them that are going to go cheap! $1250 to $1450 complete with all hardware, hoses and pumps. You can see them at: www.livorsi.com. Mike decided to stop selling tabs and I bought his entire inventory.

While we're discussing tabs have you ever seen any of the Keith Eickert Tabs that were produced? They only made a few sets prior to reliazing that the production costs were so high that the tabs would have to sell for over $5000. I bought some up when they decided to scrap the project. Just sent a set to Bermuda and have contemplated keeping the last set for my Sutphen.....

The bottom of the tab is stepped. I'm told they were cut on a seven axis machine......

How does the stepped design work? Is it the same principle as a stepped hull? P.S. Please forgive my ignorance - I'm a learner!

I'm far from an engineer, so I can't answer your question based on theory.

In my somewhat worthless opinion, I doubt the steps accomplish anything. It's my guess that they were added as a marketing tool. The tabs themselves may be some of the nicest ever made. But, I think the steps were added to differentiate the tabs from the hordes of others on the market.

I believe the boat would behave esentially the same or without the steps on the tab.

Any engineer types want to tell me why I'm wrong???

Nope!

I do believe that having the underside of the tab 'foil' shaped, ie, curved down toward the trailing edge, almost like a boat hull with a 'Hook' in it, is said to be far more efficient at lifting the chosen corner of the boat. Much more lift for less tab degrees down, and thus more lift for less drag.

But hard to produce.

Fred, what is the triple rig boat in that pic?

Outerlimits.

Those are some huge headers sticking out the back of that transom. I believe they're a full 5".

I'll see if I have some other photos.

Talking of pics Fred, why don't youemail me a dozen or so pics of the Sutphen, and I'll put em in the 'readers rides gallery'.

That'll be king of the hill in this gallery for sure

In fact, I'd like to get a whole load more boats featured in the gallery section of the main site.

So, Matt, where's ya pics?

Mrs Nobber,

R-don,

Simon Johnston,

Chris,

All the fkkn racers,

and loads I can't think of at the minute.

C'mon boys (& galls) let's have some pics!

Hi Matt, if you mean me, then go ahead. Would be good to see some pics of "Rumbles" again.

I do miss her a bit, but not the fuel bills.

Mrs Nobber,

Ooo! Didn't think you'd allow a toobed boat on there! (Yeah, I know there's a Phantom Evo but I thought that got past the censors by being a Phantom )

Well if you're being serious, there are quite a few to choose from in the 'Gallery' section of our website: www.blue-ice.me.uk but beware of pictures of certain 'celebrities'. Must get round to updating our site - gotta junk a load of piccies as well as adding some nice new ones! Can you lift some piccies from there or do you want me to go through them and send some to you or Matt? If so, what format and how? Or were you just teasing me?

Edit: Should there be a separate thread for this?

It's best if you choose the ones you want featured, as long as they're 500+ pixels wide they'll be OK the way I've been doing it, but Matt may have other ideas, so, Nobba, if you see this, let us know what pic format/size you want.

the general rule is a dozen pics per member for the RRG, so pic your fave 12.

Does it have 5" exhaust too? What do you run for exhaust.

I see you have IMCO steering. Does someone sell that in the UK?

Yes, the exhaust outlets from the turbos are 5", there's probably only a distance of about 12-14" from the mouth of the turbo, to the tip, which has mechanical flappers built in (I bought the actual tips from Stainless Marine, and copied their flapper system which they only offered on the 4" tips, using S/S hinges and carbon fibre flaps).

Tony Davis, (member on this forum) is a sportsboat builder over here, he is 'Extreme Marine'.
He and I raced his boats for a couple of years in offshore. He is an OEM dealer for IMCO.
