2006 Calendar
Could well be some changes at this stage - but hopefully will be the basis for next year!

Adam
Would you say that the Cowes dates are pretty much, 'cast in stone', or is there a chance that they'll change (thinking of accomodation)

As far as I know they are definite - don't know how they are doing with the Harbour Master though!
I think the 2005 event was very successful from most points of view and certainly saw the most spectators for a long time, so I think all parties are keen to keep it going. Just some things to sort out behind the scenes I woould imagine.

I am supprised anyone wants to play around the island after this season...
Besides, if you want to do a 'proper' attempt at the record, you should hire the time keepers and do it when it suits you, and on the shortest route, not the race route...
Now there is an idea!
Actually - I am very very happy with the race calender as published, and I am very happy with the changes I see promiced for 2006. I think there is actually a prospect for a great season ahead, and I think the guys orgaising it deserve our support.
I know how difficult it is to organise anything, having failed totally to achieve anything myself last season I am well chuffed with what Adam and others have managed to achieve for the sport for 2006.

I was gutted to discover my promiced outing to Africa with the missus corresponded exactly with this years event. I tried to convince her that meeting my parents and a week in the sun was not as important as the pier to pier, but she was having none of it.
2006 for sure!

No problem Tricky - we'll be going if it happens - looks like a right laugh for $3,000 all in! For that you get transport of the boat, flights and accomadation for 4 and a $30,000 prize fund for that class (Up to 200hp).
Crazy not to go really!

Actually down as upto 225hp - so does that mean change of engine time?
Whole thing looks really good - hope it all happens!

Actually - I'll be paying a midnight visit to the yellow bananna tube company to 'borrow' a boat if I can convince the missus to race. Since Mr Pascoe splashed her in the Blade Runner she has lost the urge to race without a canopy...

Sorry Adam - you're right - up to 225hp - does that mean that the Evinrude HO is allowed then?
The only engine that would concern me is a 225 XS if they do one, I know they do a 200 and a 250?
I have already registered my interest with the RYA. There may be a boat available for the event of it's previous owner decides not to race it of course!

Like wise - registered my interest. Would do it with my 6.5 RIB in the formula four class which is upto 175 hp.
Don't know what engine to use though? Will need a bit more power than current 140 Suzuki.
Also don't what rules are going to apply or format of event. But could all be a big adventure!

I think so - don't know if it is just from a British entries perspective or for the whole event.
Anyway hope it will be a event with many different countries being represented.

Never heard of that - is that the same as a 225XS? I thought they were all the same block anyway - the 200 - 250hp engines?
Anyway I would want the 15" one!
I'll be using the 200XS next season - couldn't afford to get an engine just for one race unless it would guarantee the win! Even then I suspect the $30,000 prize fund is going to be split up and not just for the winner!
